AVIATION FOR Girls 2016 17 B uilding an airplane and learning to fly wasn't something on Abbey Carlson's bucket list when she entered high school, but after watch- ing one of her best friends go through Circle Chris- tian School's Eagle's Nest Project, she knew it was something she had to do. "I like seeing how things are put together and how they are built," she said of her decision to apply to the program. The 2015-2016 school year, Abbey's senior year, was the second year the program was offered at Circle Christian, and the 10 students selected to participate in the project com- pleted the school's second flying RV-12 light-sport aircraft (LSA). by Kelly Nelson PHOTOGRAPHY BY CHRIS MILLER
